Meet Your July Resident of the Month: Georgette L.
Georgette was born and raised in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia and she attended and graduated from Roxborough High School. While in school she had a great love for marching in the band and being in parades.
Georgette is the youngest of the three sisters. After graduation, she got a job at the University of Pennsylvania and became the preceptor for new employees in the Clerical Department.
She met and married her husband, Carl, when she worked for the University and from the union her son, Mark, was born. She also worked for Botany 500 as a shipper and would interact with Aristotelis “Telly” Savalas, the movie star, when he came to get his suits made.
Georgette taught the kids in the neighborhood how to twirl a baton. In her past time, she enjoyed dancing, bingo, word searches, running and playing all types of sports. Her favorite quote is, “Be the best you can”.
