Meet our September Resident of the Month!
We’re excited to announce the Resident of the Month: Emma D.!Emma was born in Philadelphia on August 24,1942, and shared her upbring with three siblings.She attended and graduated from West Philadelphia High School and went on to further her education at Cheyney University. Emma became a school teacher for the Philadelphia School District and taught at Shoemaker Middle School for 40 years.
Little did she know that she would meet her husband, George, who just happened to live around the corner from her home. She stated “he didn’t even have to cross the street to get to my house.” They have been married for 54 years and counting. They have two children, seven grandchildren and many, many great grand.
She also is a member of the Eastern Star and attended Holy Cross Baptist Church from childhood and as an adult in Philadelphia.She had a pet dog named Bo Bo.Emma stated that she loved to travel and visited Africa, England and several other countries.Emma is an avid reader and on any given day you will find her walking, listening to gospel music and socializing with friends and family.
